The Phase 1 highway improvement works on Yardley Road were formally put onto maintenance on 13th January 2022.  The twelve months maintenance period has now ended and remedial works will be required to deal with any issues that have arisen during the maintenance period.

It is programmed for such remedial works to be undertaken between the 3rd April – 7th April.  A final inspection will then be undertaken with Milton Keynes Highway Department in order for a full and final adoption certificate to be issued.  Formal adoption over to the highways department is anticipated the mid-April.

The works will potentially require 3-way traffic lights located on the main entrance of the Yardley Manor development.

We would like to apologise in advance for any disruption the works may create, the works are unavoidable but hope the community as a whole can benefit from the works once they are finally complete and handed over.

Haul Road Removal

Further to previous discussions we can confirm that the site Haul Road is due to be removed with works commencing on 27th April 2023 and will take approximately 4 weeks to complete.

The works will consist of the removal of the tarmac surface, which may require a breaker attached to an excavator to facilitate this.  Once the tarmac is removed the underlying stone sub structure will be removed by excavator and transported to another area of the site for re-use.

As the stone is being removed there will be vehicles following up behind to reinstall the soil that was removed previously, an excavator will then level the soil ready for the landscaping team to carry out their works.

The works will include the removal of the tree protection fencing to enable the finishing and landscaping works to be completed.

It is likely that there will be machine noise and potentially some vibration as the tarmac is taken up and soil replaced, this is unavoidable but the Contractor’s will do their utmost to reduce any disruption.

Should there be any concerns during the period of the works or if you need to report any urgent matter please refer to the contact details below:
